MAX HOFFMAN
Writer/Director
Max Hoffman's introduction to
film making was working for indie producer and director Roger Corman.
For several years, Hoffman gained extensive production experience working
on several independent and studio movies doing everything from PA,
Gaffer, 2nd Assistant Camera Operator, Assistant Editor and Script
Supervisor. Hoffman got his first writing job when he was hired by
20th Century Fox to write a high concept, special effects screenplay
for director Jan DeBont. Hoffman was then hired to write Bitzi,
an animated movie for Disney Feature Animation and he has also been
hired to write for several independent production companies.
3719 Broadleaf Road is Hoffman's first short film. Hoffman is currently in preproduction on his first full length feature film.
ERIC E. PAULSON
Producer
Eric E. Paulson got his footing in the film
industry from solid production experience through working with industry
giants Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, Sam Mercer and Frank Marshall on
projects like That Thing You Do!, Snow
Falling on Cedars and the
HBO mini-series, From the Earth
to the Moon. In 1998, Paulson joined The Playtone Company, Tom
Hanks’ and Gary Goetzman’s film, television and record
company, working on projects such as Jonathan Demme’s film Beloved and
the HBO mini-series, Band of Brothers. Paulson Production
Managed Playtone’s, "AIDS Tribute The Making of: What’s
Going On" and served as the Production Associate on the film My
Big Fat Greek Wedding.
MORGAN SUSSER
Director of Photography
From an early age, Morgan Susser embraced every
aspect of the theatre from acting to lighting design. His passion
for storytelling soon blossomed into the art of filmmaking. As a
self-taught cinematographer, Susser has an innate sense of balance
and beauty that was quick to develop and grow. Beginning with a long
list of commercial clients including Puma, Miller Genuine Draft,
Five Alive and Kellog’s, Susser moved
on to shoot the latest Fox TV Image Campaign 2003 and all of the recent
highly acclaimed spots for Snapple, as well as the background videos
for the upcoming Elton John concert 2004-2006 at Caesar’s Palace,
Las Vegas. Alongside his commercial and music video work, Susser’s
first feature documentary Krumped, with director David LaChappelle,
can be seen at this year’s 2004 Sundance Film Festival.
MARK YOSHIKAWA
Editor
Mark Yoshikawa has edited a number of independent films, both feature
length and short form. As an editor, his credits include White
Noise,
Masterplan, Clutch, The Innocent
Bystander and Apocalypse Bop. More
recently, Mark took his first steps out of the editing room into the
director's chair with his own short film Reflexus which is currently
distributed internationally by Atom Films. Yoshikawa graduated from
the film program at the University of California, Santa Barbara and
currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
SAFOWA BRIGHT-ASARE
Costume Designer
Safowa Bright-Asare originally worked as a Designer at a top apparel
design firm in Los Angeles. She then moved into the Costume Design
arena a few years ago when she was given an opportunity to style an
ad photo shoot for her company. She found that she absolutely loved
it and decided to redirect her career towards film and hasn't looked
back since! While dividing her time between diverse Costume Design
projects in film, television and music videos, she has acquired extensive
experience working in both contemporary and period formats.
GREG JAMROK
Original Score
Greg Jamrok majored in film-scoring at the Berklee
College of Music. While there, he won the George de la Rue Scholarship
and, as a result, spent a summer as an intern for a music editing
company in Burbank. After college, he moved to California, where
he works as an Orchestrator for composer David Newman. Jamrok has
many film credits as an orchestrator, including The
Cat in the Hat,
How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, and Ice
Age. His other projects include
serving as the Scoring Consultant for My Big
Fat Greek Wedding, co-producing
singer/songwriter Brandon Schott's CD "Release," and writing
the original score for 3719 Broadleaf Road.
MATT CALLAHAN
Production Designer
Matt Callahan was a Set Decorator on the independent
feature The Annihilation of Fish which was directed by Charles
Burnett and starred James Earl Jones and Lynn Redgrave. Callahan
also decorated the L.A. principle photography on the soon-to-be released
Bollywood musical "Bride and Prejudice," directed by Gurinder Chadha
(Bend it Like Beckham). Callahan is currently Assistant Set Decorator
on the Bill Cosby produced 20th Century Fox feature Fat
Albert. As
a Set Decorating buyer, past projects include: Max
Keeble’s
Big Move, Just Married, Dickie
Roberts: Former Child Star, Legally
Blonde 2, and Cheaper by the Dozen.
FRANK JACKSON
Special Effects Make-Up
Frank Jackson is a Special Effects Make-Up Artist working in the Hollywood
area. He has done 4 "Unsolved History" and 3 "More than
Human" episodes for the Discovery Channel and the documentary "Big
Bucks: The Press Your Luck Scandal" for the Game Show Network.
Because Frank's reputation as a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer
has preceded him, you can see his work in "CSI:Miami," "Without
A Trace" and the soon to be released Constantine with
Keannu Reeves. His feature length films include the zombie drama Shadows
of the Dead, Azira with Julie Strain and Screen Gem's Anna's
Eve due out soon. Frank was thrilled to do the special effects
work for 3719 Broadleaf Road.
